U.S. Foreign Aid to Israel

Visualizing U.S. Foreign Aid to Israel from 1947 through 2017

About

Israel is the largest cumulative recipient of U.S. foreign assistance since World War II. To date, the United States has provided Israel $134.7 billion (current, or noninflation-adjusted, dollars) in economic aid and military funding.

In order to provide historical context to this phenomenon, I visualized U.S. foreign aid to Israel from 1947 through 2017. The underlying data is publicly availale from the Jewish Virtual Library and Jeremy Sharp, “U.S. Foreign Aid to Israel,” Congressional Research Service, (April 10, 2018)
